Royal Mail Postage Price Rise - What does it mean to you?

Royal Mail Postage Price Rise - What does it mean to you?

From Monday the 30th April 2012, Royal Mail have increased the price of postage on all their services, some by up to 30%.
As with all price rises, it's not something we like, but we've worked really hard to get the price you pay as close to the cost of processing your order as it possibly can be.

There's one major change which affects the cost of sending larger items like decks and tins, which adds over 1.00 to the cost of ordering a single tin or deck, but the news gets better as the cost of sending two or three decks or tins is the same as sending one.

Recorded Delivery had gone up from 75p to 95p, so we've increased the threshold from 20.00 to 25.00 before an order has to be sent with a signature required.

Larger orders, or heavier items may sometimes be cheaper to send as multiple packages, or as Parcel Post Rather than 1st class which is required on order weighing over a kilo. We'll contact you by e-mail if we can offer you a cheaper option than the postage price quoted by the site and we'll keep tweaking the website until all options are available.
